and I will be taking the week off from reviews/giveaways. But, they'll be back next week with several that you won't want to miss. But in the meantime don't forget about the Mohawk Home Rug (RV $149), Shabby Apple Dress & Bella Tu Designs headband (see links in right sidebar).
But for now I'm going to enjoy my family (the hubs is off for 2 weeks) and do 'Christmas Things' like bake cookies & shop & wrap presents.
Why, because Christmas is officially less than a week away!! I must say that I have ALWAYS loved
Christmas and now I still LOVE IT. Only for different reasons. Yes, Jesus is still the ultimate reason but I LOVE seeing Christmas through my kids eyes. I love hearing Maddox say "Claus" and I can't wait to see his face light up that morning. And I couldn't wait to take them to see Santa. It's so hard to believe this is Maddox's 3rd year sitting on his lap and Emma's very first.
I just love that our mall has the coolest of setups including movies with whales & polar bears. A place you can feel the artic ice (coolest thing ever) and a big huge snowglobe you can walk through and play. And not to mention Santa but with all that who really even needs Santa. So, a few weeks ago (the same day we had Emma's ears pierced) we visited Santa....
**pictures taking via iphone, so excuse the clarity
Watching the whale movie...
Feeling the ice which was seriously cold & icy feeling
eeww, not so sure about all that
But, his all time LOVE, the snow room. He had a blast & LOVED throwing it on me
And even though he was super excited to see Santa, when the time came to sit on his lap he became quite apprehensive
But all in all I think it was a good Santa visit.
**And because several people had asked, and I would do a whole post in itself but of course I was too busy holding to take pictures
I had wanted to get Emma's ears pierced for the longest time but up until recently the hubs had been totally against it. I think he just didn't see the reason. But, we decided as part of her Chritmas present we would get her ears pierced. So, off to the mall we went. I picked out the sweetest white gold balls & it was time. I think the worst part of the whole thing was that I held Emma in a headlock. Yes mam a headlock! Now we couldn't have crooked ears could we? She is doing great with her ears. We're supposed to clean them 3x/day for 8 weeks but most days we've been just getting twice in. But no infections & they look super cute! I was a tad worried about the fact that she is 9 months old & messes with her ears but honestly she hasn't bothered them at all.
Tears and all...

Stephanie,
Was searching for a GF's blog and came across yours. Started reading and came across your post about having both your dd's ears pierced.
I think you're a smart and thoughtful mommy for considering having your dd's ears pierced now. I had similar situation with dh. I wanted to do since birth and he was unsure. One day, he saw this toddler with the cutest little pearl earrings and told me how cute she looked. I asked if he was ready for our dd to have them pierced at 6 mos and I said YES!
Asked our ped and she encouraged me to go ahead when mommy could care for them.
Our Ped gave me some " Tips for moms having their dd's ears pierced since she had so many moms ask about having their infants and little girls ears pierced.
I know cerebrally, as mothers of girls of all ages, we know it celebrates their femaleness and femininity. After all, they are little girls, right?
Promise she'll thank you later for the "gift of pierced ears" as an infant and will look adorable in her upcoming holiday pictures.
If any other moms would like any of our ped’s tips for piercing, then don’t hesitate to write me an e-mail. They include OTC meds to
minimize any discomfort as well as how to find the most experienced person to pierce her ears.
