32 Weeks...A Preggo Post & Maternity Pic Sneak Peek

Despite the fact that I'm actually 33 weeks as of tomorrow...I'm doing a 32 Week Post.
I can't believe how fast this pregnancy is going. Just the thought that I will become a mom of 3 in just 6 weeks 3 days is CRAZY! I'm super excited to meet the little guy and at the same time I don't know what I'm going to do. I know, I know...I will manage but there's those moments that I'm just not sure how I will do it. Emma is quite the "little miss". She LOVE to be held. Just yesterday I managed to go in Walmart, push the cart with Maddox in it & hold Emma throughout the entire store all while she held her baby doll. Needless to say I was sweating. She is just something else.

Pregnancy Highlights:
How Far Along: 32 Weeks (33 tomorrow)
Size of baby: Baby H is approximately 4 lbs 5 oz
Maternity Clothes: Yes
Gender:A Boy, Hudson James.
Movement: Getting stronger! I feel like he is getting so big.
Sleep: I think I'm getting accustomed to the numerous bathroom trips. I feel exhauted pretty much all the time.
Cravings: Mexican food.
Symptons: reflux, irregular contractions, exhaustion..I think I'm at the fun stage, lol
Best Moment this week: doing maternity pictures & seeing him on the ultrasound and because I have failed to mention it the c-section is scheduled!

And now for a sneak peek...

I knew I had to do maternity pictures this time. It's one of those things I think I don't want to do & then afterwards I regret it. So, third time is the charm. And lucky for me this awesome photographer has teamed up with the hospital I work at to photograph maternity & children pictures to decorate our floor. :) She truly has such an eye for the "right picture" so if you're anywhere near the Charlotte, NC area I highly recommend Michelle Neira photography

And talking about photography be sure to check out my best friends photography page, Shutter Farm Portraits  because she will be giving away a FREE 16x20 canvas very soon.

And I know I've really been lacking lately but I have several super awesome things coming up that you definitely won't want to miss. Reviews, giveaways & more!

Baby H #3 ---15 Weeks Bump Update

Wow, this pregnancy is just flying by so I thought I better get to taking some pictures. Would hate for Baby#3 not to have any. So, if only for myself here it is.

This past Saturday I turned 15 weeks....

Pregnancy Highlights:
How Far Along: 15 Weeks
Size of baby: Baby H is the size of an apple
Total Weight Gain/Loss: Honestly, I'm trying not to keep up with it...every pound is worth it. And after 2 previous pregnancies I know it will come off.
Maternity Clothes: My regular jeans fit but they seem to hit in such a funny place on my belly that they cut in and make my stomach look weird. So, I pretty much wear maternity.
Gender: Honestly, I think BOY but the hubs thinks girl. We shall see!
Movement: I'm pretty sure I have been feeling some flutters. Can't wait to feel the bigger movements.
Sleep: So so...I really haven't been waking up for potty breaks which is weird to me. I started very early with Emma but I usually make it until my alarm goes off.
What I miss: having energy & not throwing up
Cravings: Mexican food mainly.
Symptons: Still the occasional nausea but I think it's getting better. Exhaustion.
Best Moment this week: Hearing Maddox & Emma call the baby by a name (even if it's what the hubs has them calling a girl)

Baby Makes FIVE!

If you missed my post the other day be sure to check it out, HERE.
Yes, the Houghton family is growing by one in April 2013.

Perhaps, if you've been around awhile you know how our family started and how we struggled to begin our family. I talked about it here, the pills/shots here and once again here.
Like many others I was diagnosed with PCOS and have extremely irregular menstrual cycles. In fact they're so irregular I have had F-O-U-R since I got pregnant with Maddox in 2008. Yeah, I know not normal.
So, I think it is completely amazing that I have a 3rd miracle on the way and naturally at that.

We discovered that we were expecting Baby #3 on August 22nd. Honestly, I was in complete shock & denial. Yeah, I had a few things that had caught my attention and I wondered but when the double lines popped up I was in shock and disbelief. You're probably thinking, but this is pregnancy 3...you should know. Well, to say each one was/is totally different is an understatement.

To rewind a bit I had tested earlier in August because it had been such a long time since my "friend" had visited (50+ days). But nada. Well, when day 70 rolled around I thought better test again just in case.

And TADA the lines were there.
Baby #3 is on the way.

As of this past Saturday I'm 8 weeks and the morning  all day sickness is in full swing. With Maddox & Emma I didn't feel good but I didn't really get sick. And if I did it was once in a blue moon. But not so lucky this time. So, as of now I'm counting down until 2nd trimester. Praying it's gone by then. I really hate to wish the pregnancy away but I won't miss the yuckiness of vomiting.

So, there it is the Houghton's are becoming a family of 5 in April 2013!

32 Weeks (+ 2 days)

Pregnancy Highlights

Excuse the non-makeup look, we had a snow day today!

How Far Along: 32 Weeks

Stretch marks/belly button: No new ones (just one's from the last pregnancy) & the belly button popped this time. I find this so hard to believe being I've gained so much less & it never popped with him

Size of baby: 19 inches & almost 4 lbs
Maternity Clothes: Oh yes

Gender: GIRL (Emma Louise)!

Movement: Yes, I love it! She is moving a lot. She is a very active baby who loves to move all night long...a little worried about that. Lol.

What I miss: Sleeping all night without hopping up to pee & sleeping on my stomach. Being able to get up & down easily. Touching my toes or seeing them for that matter.
Sleep: So, so...it all depends on which night it is. It's definitely much harder to get comfortable. I can only sleep on my left side with a pillow. And I get up at least once to pee.
Symptoms: Frequent potty breaks, back pain, fatigue, Braxton Hicks, feet/ankle swelling (much better than being pregnant in the summer though) & my newest is shortness of breath especially when I lie down

Best Moment This Week: Hearing that I'm NOT  a gestational diabetic. Yay!!!

What I am looking forward to: Emma's bedding arriving this week!  Can't wait to see it.

7 Weeks Till D-Day

Only 7 weeks till D-Day, 4 weeks until I'm full-term. Wow, it's getting so close. Still so hard to believe...but BOY AM I READY!

Not only am I ready for him to arrive buy I'm also ready to:
  • sleep on my stomach again
  • start losing weight instead of gaining
  • normal feet/ankles
  • Ability to take deep breaths or breathe for that matter
  • Ability to sleep on 1 pillow instead of 3
  • Go more than 2 hrs without peeing
  • The list could go on....

Don't get me wrong I'm not complaining...I've waited for this for a long time. But I think every pregnant woman just gets to that point.

What's going on at 33 weeks:
This week your baby may be anywhere between 17 to 19 inches in length and weigh more than four and a half pounds. At this stage in fetal development, your baby could grow a full inch more this week alone — especially if he or she has been on the shorter side. Weight gain can range from a third more growth to a full doubling before the big debut. The level of amniotic fluid in your uterus has reached its maximum at 33 weeks pregnant, making it likely that you have more baby than fluid now. That's one reason why you're probably feeling lots of nudges and pushes — there's less liquid to cushion the blows. If your uterine walls had eyes, here's what you'd see: your fetus acting more and more like a baby, with his or her eyes closing during sleep and opening while awake. And because those uterine walls are becoming thinner, more light penetrates the womb, helping your baby differentiate between day and night.

OMG...I'm 8 months

Yes, as of today I'm officially 32 weeks/8 months pregnant! Wow,at one point I thought I would never be a momma and look I'm almost there. It's so hard to believe!!

8 months

I thought it was about time for an updated belly photo...however as I upload them I realize it doesn't much look like me. I do believe my next picture may have to be taken at the beginning of the day when I'm not quite as exhausted.

And a funny little tidbit...a woman told me yesterday that I was soooo tiny! Oh my, I think she must be blind.

According to Baby Center Maddox is now up to:

By now, your baby weighs 3.75 pounds (pick up a large jicama) and is about 16.7 inches long, taking up a lot of space in your uterus (ummm...could be wrong but I'm betting he's bigger). . He now has toenails, fingernails, and real hair (or at least respectable peach fuzz). Her skin is becoming soft and smooth as he plumps up in preparation for birth.

Almost Time

Yesterday, I was sitting at my hair appointment and came to the realization that I may not make it to my next hair appointment. I usually go every 6 weeks to get my hair done and well in 6 weeks I will be almost 38 weeks. (My chances are I will be able to make it but you never know) I think I better just go in 4 or 5 weeks just in case. It's the small things like this that make me realize just how close I am to having a baby.

Just a little late but let's see what Maddox is up to at 31 weeks.

As far as growth goes, your baby's still on a roll, measuring an impressive 18 inches and weighing in at more than three pounds (keep in mind he was 3 lbs 12 oz's last Friday). At 31 weeks pregnant, you can still expect your baby to gain at least three to five pounds, possibly more, before you two meet. Your baby's brain is working overtime these days, developing faster than ever. Connections between individual nerve cells are growing at a frenetic clip, and your baby can now perceive information from all five senses. Sure, your baby can't smell anything right now, but that's only because he or she is still submerged in amniotic fluid and needs to be breathing air to get a whiff of anything. Lucky for you — and your baby — yours will be one of the very first scents your baby breathes in, a scent that will quickly become his or her very favorite.

Updates

Yesterday's appointment went GREAT! Everything looked good on the ultrasound (Maddox, fluid levels & such). He is measuring in at 3 lbs 12 ozs. It is so hard to believe that he started out smaller than a poppy seed. The doctor said that the weight was pretty average & some babies are just a little plumper (poor little guy). As far as the dating, he's only measuring a week ahead. However we all know that my dates are pretty much right on, so there will be no changing of due dates.

And yes, it is official I passed my glucose screening. My glucose level was 111 and anything under 140 passes. Hip, hip hooray!!!!
